Dysmenorrhea is the medical term for menstrual cramps, which are caused by uterine contractions. There are two types of dysmenorrhea: primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea is pain caused by menstrual periods, or “menstrual cramps”. Secondary dysmenorrhea is caused by a disorder in the reproductive system, the pain in the course of time tends to get worse rather than better. However both types can be treated using homeopathy.
Primary Dysmenorrhea – Menstrual cramps are triggered by contractions of a chemical called prostaglandin in the uterus. The uterus contracts stronger during menstruation. If the uterus contracts too hard, it can press against neighboring blood vessels, cutting off the uterus muscle tissue’s supply of oxygen. Pain results when a portion of the muscle loses its oxygen supply for a short time.
Secondary Dysmenorrhea – Menstrual pain from secondary dysmenorrhea is caused by a disease in the woman’s reproductive organs. Conditions which may cause secondary dysmenorrhea includes :
Endometriosis – A disorder in which the uterus tissue lining is found outside the uterus.
Pelvic inflammatory disease – A bacterial infection that begins in the uterus and may spread to other reproductive organs.
Adenomyosis – A condition in which the uterus lining grows into the uterine muscle.
Fibroids (benign tumors) – Grows on the internal wall of the uterus.
Homeopathy cures menstrual cramps very effectively. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the signs and symptoms from which the patient is suffering.
With regard to therapeutic medication, several remedies are available for the treatment of dysmenorrhea, which can be chosen on the grounds of the complaint’s cause, sensations and modalities.
Homeopathy is aimed not only at treating dysmenorrhea, but also at addressing its underlying cause and individual susceptibility.
One can permanently get rid of the menstraul cramp. There is no longer a need to take painkillers.
